MUSTAKIVI is a brand produced by Fujiwo Ishimoto, a former Marimekko textile designer and now a ceramic artist from Ehime Prefecture. Located at the foot of Matsuyama Castle overlooking the stone wall with 400 years of history, a tea shop-space “Saboh” is located, with an art gallery installed on its basement floor. Hometown of Ishimoto, the goal is to deepen the connection with various people, enhance the charm of Ehime and Japan, and retain and pass on the traditions.

Ehime Prefecture is known as a hidden tea spot. Located at the foot of the highest peak in Western Japan, the Ishizuchi Mountains, the severe temperature difference between day and night, and the land with good sunshine conditions, are suitable for making tea; its fragrance rated as one of the best in Japan.

This packaging by Ishimoto exquisitely combines traditional Japanese colors with sophisticated Scandinavian colors. The design is inspired by traditional kimono design or style called “katamigawari”. In addition, the use of two colors for upper and lower part of the box creates a border similar to “noshi”, a kind of ceremonial origami that expresses good wishes.
