I usually visit this museum when I am on vacation since it is located in Chiangmai, maybe that is why eveytime I visit Maiiam I have this strange positive and uplifting feeling even before I see any art inside.
Chiang Mai, also known as the "City of Arts",has produced many Thai artists. It is a relatively new art museum that opened in 2016, mainly hosting exhibitions of up-and-coming Thai artists. The first floor is for temporary exhibitions and the second floor is for permanent exhibitions.
The northern kingdom of Chiang Mai is known for its thriving production of arts and crafts and its historically skilled artisans. Jean Michel Beurdeley, along with his late wife Patsri Bunnag and their son Eric Bunnag Booth, wanted to share their private collection, which they had built together over 30 years, so that people could see and experience for themselves how art enriches people's lives, and so that the museum could inspire new collectors.
