The first time I ate “Wanko Soba” was when I stayed in Iwate for the Iwate ADC, judging the event.

The taste and performance were great.

Located on Nakanobashi Street, a historic shopping street in the castle town of Morioka in Iwate Prefecture, Wanko soba is an all-you-can-eat buckwheat noodle soup restaurant that focuses on the idea of serving a unique "omotenashi" experience, the Japanese idea of hospitality, in every dish. Azumaya, the originator of such wanko soba, started its business in 1907 and is a restaurantserving wanko soba and local cuisine.

While chanting “Hai, jan jan. Hai, don don,” waiters pour a mouthful of soba into a bowl in front of you, and 15 bowls are enough for about one cup of soba. This truly makes for a one of a kind form of food entertainment that everyone around the table can enjoy during and after the course!
