I was amazed at the size and beauty of the gate when I saw it in person.

Tsutsumimon is a large gate with a very strong presence in front of Kenrokuen (east entrance) of Kanazawa Station. It is a symbol of Kanazawa and is the only station in Japan to be selected as one of the 14 most beautiful stations in the world. The design was inspired by the Noh drum and is constructed out of laminated larch. Together with Kanazawa Station and the glass roof that covers the gate, the Kodo Gate is the gateway to Kanazawa and attracts many tourists.

The gate is also lit up from sunset to midnight, with a different color for each day of the week. Kanazawa Station is not like any other station you may encounter, but a photogenic place to visitjust to take pictures.
