HILLTOP HOTEL
1-1 Kandasurugadai, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo Japan 101-0062
A traditional Japanese classic hotel loved by great writers. It has a beautiful garden and art deco interior.
Formerly known as the Sato Shinsei Seikatsu Kan, the facility opened as a hotel in 1954. The hotel was designed by architect William Merrell Vories and features a unique Art Deco style design. Art Deco is an eclectic decorative style that originated in Paris in the 1920s and still has, to this day, retained a classic yet modern feel.
The hotel, where Yukio Mishima and many other writers stayed for long periods of time to write, has only 35 rooms. Every room has a different layout. The rooms are designed to make you feel as much at home as possible, with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, and a restaurant that serves delicious meals, it makes sense that this was the second home of the writers.
