A lovely excursion spot from Tokyo designed by the artist Hiroshi Sugimoto.

The nearest station is Nefugawa Station, the only unmanned station on the JR Tokaido Line. From there, it is a 40-minute walk to the top of a hill. On this land, which was originally a mandarin orchard, Hiroshi Sugimoto, one of Japan's leading contemporary artists, opened the “Odawara Art Foundation Enoura Observatory”.

Inside, there are artworks with stone motifs, a teahouse that is a copy of Sen no Rikyu's "Waitan," a copper-iron tunnel, a 100-meter long galley building, and a garden. A variety of architectural and artistic works are scattered throughout the city. Without being caught in the category of gallery, museum, or contemporary architecture, "Enoura Weather Station" is an art space itself with all of them mixed together.
