"This Japanese sake flavoured Kit Kat was produced — including its flavour — by former Japanese football player Hidetoshi Nakatata. Using a sake called Masuizumi from Masuda Brewery of Toyama prefecture, Japan, it features an authentic flavour that makes one feel like they are drinking the sake itself. Unlike the normal Kit Kat, this product is made not only for locals, but for those visiting Japan, and is designed to communicate its authenticity and feeling of Japan through its combination of red and gold reminiscent of Japanese lacquerware. As for its typography, a thin newspaper typeface was used to depict the delicateness of the sake, and by using both horizontal and vertical writing with the symbol of the Kit Kat at its centre, it represents the layout of a traditional sake barrel with a modern twist. This product was designed in hope that it will be an opportunity for more people to take an interest in Japanese sake."
