Yuji Tokuda established his own design agency canaria in 2007. He is renowned for the consistent concept making through brand, product, project development to communication as well as his creative direction and design in the total design. His clients include ILOHAS, FLOWFUSHI, ANA avatar―in, EN, a facial salon from Paris, Yoshinowgawa, Kyonaka, self-management skin care THE BOOK, ANA international business class, Mori Art Museum, FANCL brand renewal advertisement, Mitsubishi Estate corporate advertisement and Tokyo Motor Show. He was also the first Japanese to design a champagne brand PERNET&PERNET. His work extends to a unique solo art exhibition of Another Eye, participation in TREASURED TRUSH PROJECT for realization of sustainable creative, designing of “Hato Café, closing the distance between government and its citizens” and participation in an expert committee of Cabinet Office”, challenging to fulfill the role of creative in society. His work has received numerous awards including Gold Award of iF DESIGN AWARD, Best of the Best Award of Red Dot Award Communication Design, Cannes Lions Gold, NY ADC Gold and Silver, Japan Package Design Award Gold, Silver and Bronze. His works got the highest prize in two of the largest and most prestigious design competitions in the world, and they received high evaluations in the world. He is also a domestic and international lecturer at MIT, Keio University, Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo University of the Arts, Musashino Art University, Kyoto Seika University, Tokyo Polytechnic University, Graduate School of Project Design and Jilin University of Arts. Tokuda is a design partner of avatarin for a high-level interactive virtual experience and remote controlling technology, a member , public relations chairperson , and international committee member of Japan Graphic Designers Association (JAGDA) and a member of Japan Package Design Association (JPDA).
