Kaori Akiyama
STUDIO BYCOLOR is a Tokyo-based design studio that looks fresh at what is right in front of our eyes, questioning what is considered normal in today’s expanding design field. Kaori Akiyama founded STUDIO BYCOLOR in 2013. Once the core is in place, the colors and materials are used to further bring out the appeal and strengthen the object’s meaning. A design office that effectively utilizes colors and materials.
INHERENT:PATTERN, the result of material experimentation, won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2022. STUDIO BYCOLOR has also received iF Design Award gold, DFA Gold Award, DIA Top 100, Good Design Award and she also serves on the jury for design awards in Japan and abroad.
