Born in 1976 in Hokkaido, Japan. After graduating from Hokkaido Tokai University (currently Tokai University) and Hokkaido College of Art & Design, Junya currently presides at KD.
Working as an art director for long-established small and medium-sized enterprises in Hokkaido — such as confectionary shop Kinotoya, Matsuo Genghis Khan, and Tomoe Fukuyama Brewing, to Kobe deli brand RF1, Yokohama’s Japanese-style lifestyle brand Hamamonyo, and handling the branding and overall direction for newly opened cheese speciality store Cheese no Koe in Tokyo — Junya works on a diverse range of projects.
His work has been recognised through awards such as NY ONE SHOW, D&AD, Good Design Award, JAGDA New Designer Award, JAGDA Award, Japan Package Design Association Award, and the Japan Sign Design Association Award, amongst many others. He is also a part time lecturer at Tokai University and Sapporo Otani University.
