Roy Wang
Art Director
Singapore
Trained in fine arts since a young age of three, Roy Wang has been working as an artist and designer for more than a decade. In 2009, he founded Factory (previously known as Factory 1611), an art & design studio, specialises in branding, business communication strategy, visual communications and fine art. In his works, the distinctions between art & design are often blurred to create unconventional compositions across all mediums. To him, good art absorbs good design principles, whereas good design can be conveyed through striking artistic values.
In the past decade, Roy’s work has been featured in numerous publications such as Design 360, Asia Pacific Design and The Design Society Journal. He was the official designer for the National Gallery Singapore’s opening exhibitions (Earthwork 1979 and A Fact has no Appearance) and first international exhibition (Reframing Modernism). This year, Roy also served as official designer for the Singapore Pavilion at the 58th Venice Art Biennale.
In 2017, Factory opened its first regional branch in Shenzhen, China. Roy is also the founder of the fashion accessories label, Temp Fun.
